Facing a 3bet
The numbers on the pokermath pages are purely math, and should never be the only reason for the action you take in a given hand. You still need to take all the information - and probably especially villain type into consideration also. Always use common sense.

If you get 3Bet by a nit, who only 3Bets 1 hand out of 1000, then he probably has the nuts, so you should call much tigther than the math predicts. Likewise, if you are facing a maniac, who 3Bets every chance he gets, you can probably losen up your defending ranges.

Play around with the numbers, and you are well on the way to get closer to playing GTO - or at least not be exploitable. This is a great way to spend time on your poker practice - and it is free.

Defend vs 3Bets:
Try the numbers to see how much you should mathematically defend vs a 3Bet, to not let villain be able to 3Bet you with any two cards.:

Plug in the number of combinations in your opening range, your opening raise size (like 3 BB), and the size of villains 3B (e.g. 9 BB). We should defend slightly more vs a 7.5 BB 3Bet than vs a 12 BB 3Bet.:

You open a total range of ___ combinations and your raise size is ___ BBs. If villain (who is not in the blinds) 3Bets you ___ BBs, you should matematically defend at least ___ combinations, otherwise it is profitable for villain to 3Bet you with any two cards. The numbers alter slightly when you get 3B from the blinds, as the blinds gets a 'little discount' to the price of 3Betting, as they have already paid the blinds.
